Staples securely fix underfloor heating pipes to insulation boards or composite insulation. Combined with the appropriate tacker tool, they enable fast and ergonomic installation across large areas. Winkler Technik develops and manufactures staples in Germany and Switzerland for a wide range of pipe dimensions, insulation materials and installation requirements – including customized OEM solutions.
Our staple systems consist of a staple gun, staples and – where needed – the matching adapter. They allow heating pipes to be fixed directly to the insulation without kneeling, protecting backs and joints on site while clearly reducing build time.
The staples are available in different lengths and suit all common insulation thicknesses. The barbs hold permanently, even under the load of the screed.

What is a staple system?
A staple system is a method of fixing the underfloor heating pipe to the insulation without tape: with a staple gun and matching underfloor heating staples, the pipe (16 to 20 mm) is shot directly into the insulation – installed upright and ergonomically, with no kneeling. Unlike loose pipe clips, every staple is set in seconds with the tool.
What is a staple for underfloor heating?
A staple (tacker pin) is a plastic pin with barbs that is shot into the insulation board with a staple gun. It holds the heating pipe (16 to 20 mm) directly on the insulation at the desired laying distance – without tape, without kneeling, pipe installed upright. Our staples come in different lengths for all common insulation thicknesses.
Staples or pipe clips – which is better for underfloor heating?
Both fix the heating pipe to the insulation. With loose underfloor heating clips, every clip is picked up and pushed on by hand. With our staples, the staple gun fixes the pipe in one motion – every staple is set in seconds, upright and ergonomic. That is why many installers replace loose pipe clips with a staple system.
What does a staple system consist of?
A complete staple system consists of the staple gun, the matching staples and, depending on the tool, an adapter. At Winkler Technik, setting tool, staple and U-rail are matched as one system, so the pipe is fixed securely and nothing slips.
Which staple length fits which insulation thickness?
The staple length depends on the insulation thickness and material – 30 mm WLG-040 insulation needs a different staple than 60 mm staple insulation. We are happy to recommend the right length before your first order; samples are sent at short notice.
How many staples do you need per m²?
The requirement depends on the pipe spacing: depending on the layout, around 12 to 15 staples are needed per square metre. We are happy to tell you the exact requirement for your layout – it is also listed in our catalogue.
Which pipe diameters are the staples suitable for?
The staples are suitable for pipe diameters of 16 to 20 mm, depending on the staple type and insulation. The datasheet for each staple is available on the respective product page.
Which staple gun fits which staples?
The TAKOMBI staple gun is the versatile classic for variable pipe diameters, the TAE-Elite is the premium setting tool for E2 staples, and the TAC0312 is the matching tool for the C0312 staple. You can find details on the product pages for TAKOMBI, TAE-Elite and TAC0312.
